Lil Wayne Wins Award at 2018 BET Hip Hop Awards

Lil Wayne Wins Award at 2018 BET Hip Hop Awards – Lil Wayne is a certified rap legend, and at this year’s BET Hip Hop Awards, the New Orleans rhyme-slinger was treated like one. Earlier tonight (Oct. 16), the folks at BET aired the 2018 BET Hip Hop Awards, and during the course of the show, Weezy was presented the I Am Hip Hop Award.

Before taking the stage, a video of folks like Kendrick Lamar, 2 Chainz and more speaking on Weezy played on the big screen. All of them praised the rapper for his creativity and work ethic, qualities that made him a legend. Needless to say, the praise was all well-deserved.

Taking the stage with both his mother and his mother Jacida Carter and his daughter Reginae Carter, Weezy F. was as gracious as ever. UGK’s Bun B helped deliver an awesome introductory speech for Weezy, who was presented the award by Bun and DJ Khaled.

Over the course of a few minutes, Wayne gave thanks to all of his fans who’ve supported him over the last several years, which have been tumultuous ones for the rap superstar. He also gave thanks to a man he affectionately calls Uncle Bob, who he says saved his after Weezy’s suicide attempt years ago.
